The Bay Map

Where the region's hopeful futurists gather — the Bay as a painted memory, one pin per city

The Bay Area's futurist season does not stay in one neighborhood. It meets above a bar on Broadway, in a fold of the Mission, on the Berkeley campus, in an Oakland art walk, at the edge of the Palo Alto wetlands, and once, gloriously, on a Sonoma County hillside being cared for by hand. This map paints the Bay the way evening remembers it, and pins each city by how many gatherings it hosts; tap a pin to reach its nights.

An abstract map by design: the shape is a memory of the Bay, not a survey of it. Pin numbers count dated gatherings this season; standing rooms appear on the Bright Future page itself. Every gathering below links to its own page.
